Think of doing the low carb lifestyle? Here are some things to consider...

Know Your Status
Before you get too into doing a diet of any kind its always a good idea to check with your doctor. You want to make sure that the system and foods you will be eating will not do any harm to what they may want for you and what your body requires. Everyone's body is different and before you go changing the way your body is treated and its routine you will want to make sure the low carb life is right for you.

Read Dr Atkins Book
He's a Doctor, I'm just some guy who ate a lot of meat. Seriously. Read the first couple chapters of the book. Its interesting, it explains a lot, and it will equip you with the know how to actually avoid the food that causes weight gain and embrace the ones that will get you to shed pounds. You need to understand the science of why you body reacts to carbs so you know why you should not eat them. 

Be Specific
Its all about numbers. When you are doing a low carb diet you will be counting a lot of carbs, fibers, and proteins. Be specific with your math and numbers you allow.  if you get lazy with your counting you can get lazy with how many carbs you allow into your body any that's where mistakes get made.

Get a Routine
eat breakfast, go to work, eat lunch, more work, Exercise, eat dinner go to bed. keep your body in a routine as best as you can. When you confuse your body, you confuse is ability to lose weight.

Exercise
At least 30 minutes a day. 3-4 times a week. It will greatly improve your results and kick your fat burning into overdrive. And don't feel like you have to go run a marathon. Just go for a fast pace walk for those 30 minutes. get your heart up and beating. It will make all the difference. 

Have Fun
That's where this site comes in. Try new recipes. Mix ingrediants, explore with restaurants, be a low carb treasure hunter. Get into the community on-line of others like yourself trying to lose the weight and change their life.
