I love BBQ. Meat smothered and slow cooked in a delicious sugary sauce. What's not to love. Well, the problem lies in the sugary sauce. BBQ is actually a bit of a gray area for me in carb counts. It's meat which we will all agree is low carb by itself, but some of it depending on the BBQ can be very sweet and have a lot of carbs cooked into it.
The other hard part about BBQ comes from the sides that usually come along with it. Most of the time its potatoes, mac and cheese, or corn bread. All delicious, and all a bad idea.
I had lunch at a BBQ place near me called Lucille's. Its a pretty awesome spot in my area. You can tell they take their time with the meats their because the whole parking lot smells wonderfully smokey.
I got a small order of ribs, some tri tip, and some fresh veggies. Not a bad lunch. You just have to be careful what you have later in the day to make up for it..
