Seabear Smoked Salmon Jerky was a daunting task for me to try. It's probably more of a mental thing, but I had a really hard time with the idea of eating fish jerky. Something to do with the idea of the fish being raw and then sitting for a while to dry out. I used to dehydrate my own meat and I know that those dehydrators can get warm which is a weird thoughtful when it's fish. Now I know that it's not going to be bad or unsafe. No company is going to put a product like that on the market. But it was a mental thing for me that made it hard to try.
But I'm not a chicken and I have a job to do. So I tried a bite of this jerky. It's kind of like the smoke salmon you might have at a brunch. Only chewier. Really smoky and really fishy. For me personally it was actually a little too smoky. Soon as I opened up the bag my entire surrounding area was filled with the scent of smoked salmon. That's not the kind of snack you can easily hide at the workplace.
In terms of taste it was great. Tasted fine like smoked salmon. Very strong smoky taste. If that's your thing you'll probably love it.
If you're a fan of dried fish you probably like the stuff and if you can get past your mental blocks might really enjoy it. For me I won't be going back to it.
