I love Nush Cakes! They are some of the better snack cakes for low carbers that are out there. I was excited to try one of their newest flavors, the Nush Pineapple Mango Cake. This cake has a nice sweetness and a tropical taste to it. You can actually taste the pineapple pieces in the cake. It's almost that of a Pineapple upside down cake. Really good. These are great snacks and for me they fulfill the craving for baked goods. Almost like that of a muffin. Great brand that always delivers.
The Dang Lemon Matcha Bar is one of the better tasting low carb bars I have tried in the last few months. Wonderful lemon flavor comes out of the bar with a nice smooth matcha taste. Matcha flavored items seem to be one of the hit buzz items lately, but if used correctly can have a nice flavor. This is probably the first bar I have had that used the Matcha taste. I enjoyed it and was very impressed with how fresh the bar tasted. Totally different than any of the bars I traditionally have. These a great option for anyone who is tired of their bars all being very chocolate based or peanut based.
I love me a good ginger cookie. It's my belief that they can work both as a hard snap cookie, and also as a soft baked sweet cookie. In either case they need to have a nice sweetness and a decent ginger bite to them. The Nui Ginger Something Cookie fits in the soft baked category and does have a good sweetness to it. It doesn’t quiet have the bite I was hoping for though. I wouldn’t say that the cookies weak, just not as strong as I would have liked in the ginger category and lacking a bite of the ginger taste. I would be interested in trying some of the other flavors that this company had to see how they stack up.
The Sukrin Milk Chocolate Bar was pretty tasty. It has a very smooth taste and is a not too sweet. It does have a slightly strong Stevia taste, which some people may not have an issue with it. Overall it’s a good chocolate bar. Not one of the top low carb chocolates I have had. But still very good. Overall I guess it’s a 6/10.
The Keto Watt Original Protein Bar did end up tasting a bit better than I expected. I am not afraid to say that I am often guilty of judging a bar or snack on its packaging. This bar looks super boring on the outside. Even the flavor just says "Original". That tells me nothing about what to expect. However when I finally did open up the package and try this, I found that it had a nice flavor to it although in retrospect I can't pinpoint what the flavor is. The ingredients say almonds and coconut so I suppose you could expect that. In truth, I know it tasted fine, but it’s a pretty forgettable experience. I would have no reason to seek these out again. Honestly, I'm having a hard enough time thinking of things to talk about in this review for it. That’s the impact I left with.
I find that having variety on a low carb diet is what helps me to stay on track. Having lots of options so I don’t get bored and get tempted into something I shouldn't eat is the key. Ao often times I have to make sure that my pantry is stocked with lots of low carb treats. Things that seem to win are items that replace the normal salty snacks.
Barbecue Pro-puffs are a crunchy snack that I can only describe as that if a Cheeto replacement. Obviously these are not a nacho cheese flavor built Barbeque, but the consistency is very similar to that of cheese puffs. They ae a bit crunchier maybe, but outside of that a great replacement.
I loved these things. Lots of flavor on them and hardly any carbs in a bag. A great snack option. I can actually eat the whole bag in one sitting, although I wasn’t able to. I love the BBQ taste and the crunch helps to fulfill an urge. More than anything I was impressed at how they didn’t have a strange aftertaste as one might expect from something that was a protein based Cheese puff alternative. These are great.
This company makes pretty good peanuts. I like this flavor. Not what I expected. I also have no idea how to explain Bay Spice as a flavor.
Kiss My Keto Chocolate Cookie Dough Bar is a pretty decent cookie dough bar. It's got a pretty good taste but does little to mimic the texture of actual cookie dough. Still the flavor is right and it has a nice smooth consistency with little after taste. All in all I enjoyed it. But nothing was really stand out here.
Birthday Cake flavor is definitely the flavor of the times these days. If you haven't tried the Quest Birthday Cake Bar then you are missing out. Great flavor with a good texture too. One of the better tasting birthday cake bars out there.
I found these in Target and you can easily track them down online too.
