I am on the quest to taste every brand I can find pork rinds. And it is amazing how each brand can taste so different. So far my favorite is La Toñita brand (Evans), and I found it at a Walmart once. Can't seem to find it again, but am planning on ordering it online soon. It it hot with a tang of lime in it. Another brand is MISSION and the plain ones are so "clean" tasting. I usually hate opening a bag because I dislike the initial smell. MISSION plain pork rinds are so clean and fresh, lol. And for real crunch satisfaction, I buy the crunchier version of pork rinds, called "cracklins." I know pork rinds also come in bbq flavor, but I enjoy plain or spicy better. I will also get the plain ones and sprinkle grated cheese and nuke them, and dip them in a sourcream/salsa mixture.

I have never been a big fan of fried pork rinds, but since I've been working at the sticker factory and making labels for Evan's Food, I've had a chance to try a few flavors... and they can be a little addictive. I definitely prefer the hot and tangy flavors to plain, and liked the chili lime and salt and vinegar. Definitely don't smell before or during eating. Totally ruins the experience. And chew a piece of gum after... the aftertaste is not the best. I think chicharrones could definitely be the low-carb Flamin' Hot Cheetos. You may even want to try them with Tapatio. Never thought I would be encouraging anyone to eat fried pork fat. But go for it! And buy the ones with labels ; )
