Cauliflower Rice is a Simple Low Carb Hack

Recently I've seen a lot of people online talking about how you can use cauliflower as a substitute for different things. Probably the most popular thing that they use cauliflower to substitute for is that of rice. I thought I'd give it a try. Rice is a great addition to any meal and we often times have the very types of meals that rice goes good with. Stir fries, curries, and even a good teriyaki bowl are all frequent meals at our house.

When we do cauliflower rice we take our cauliflower and cut it down into smaller sizes and then stick it into our food processor where we allow the machine to grade it into small pieces. you have to use a grater, or you end up with Cauliflower mash. There are several different recipes out there that you can use but if you're lazy like me you can stick your cauliflower in a bowl with little bit a water and a little tiny bit of seasoning and stick that bowl into the microwave. When it comes out you'll have a nice rice type material which is great to add to any meal.

Now don't mistake me you're still eating cauliflower so obviously it still has a distinct cauliflower taste. But it does seem to go rather well with Asian and Indian dishes.  And depending how you season your cauliflower it might even improve it more. I might suggest a little of cumin. It's become a staple at our house when we need a good side dish to help fill us up. And if you're short on time you can prop a big bowl at the beginning of the week and make as much as you need each time you need it.

Another tip, add a lot of cheese with some garlic seasoning for a nice cheesy treat.
