We don't use mayonnaise in our house that often so this was a tricky product to review. So far I try to couple different ways. The first was using it as a mix in for tuna melts. The taste of chipotle was mild and not too strong. I might even say not that noticeable. I decided to try it on a low carb turkey wrap. It was a bit more prominent in this for. Nice taste and not spicy. A little something different on a usable normal sandwich. I will say that it is funny to have this marketed as paleo and low carb friendly because most mayos are low carb already. Nothing really different here in my opinion.

So it wasn't too long ago that I tried this brownie mix made by a company that specializes in low-carb baking goods. The brownies were awesome. Just recently I came across a package of their cookie mix. Specifically this is a snickerdoodle cookie. Each cookie only has two carbs which is great. But what's most important about a cookie how it tastes. So how does Good Dees Low carb Snickerdoodle Cookie mix taste?
First, this stuff is super easy to make. Just mix in a little oil, an egg, some vanilla and you're good to go. Since it was a snickerdoodle cookie I was very excited to try it. As I've mentioned before I love anything that cinnamon. These cookies we're not quite as good as the brownies in my opinion. Mainly because they have a strong cool taste to them which I can only imagine comes from the sweetener that is used. Cinnamon and spice is very good about the cookies, but the sweetness is kind of offputting. I would related to having a piece of gum or a sugar-free breath mint. It just has a weird cool property to it that It leaves in your mouth. Probably wouldn't go back to these as quick as I went to brownies that's for sure. I am discovering more and more options for low carb sweets these days. Some are definitely better than others. The most recent one I tried was the ChocoRite Milk Chocolate Pecan Clusters. Great sweet taste with a super yummy Carmel flavor. The pecans have a good crunch too. So far the ChocoRite brand has been really nailing their sweets. I would absolutely have this again. Very yummy.
If you read this blog you know that I am constantly on the look-out for Low Carb products that meet my lifestyle and help to make my life a bit easier. Saving time on cooking, and having a variety of snacks available help to make the diet a bit easier on myself so I don’t get bored with the same old things. So when I discovered that there was a new subscription service that sends you products that fit within the low carb lifestyle I was on board. Keto Krate is a new subscription box that is available in the long list of to your door monthly box subscriptions that is specifically geared towards the Keto and low carb lifestyle. They guarantee that all items in the box will be less than 5 carbs per serving and that the value of the collected items products will always exceed the cost of the box. My desire to find some new snacks that were low carb is really what made me decide to give it a try, that plus who doesn’t like a surprise now and then. My review's for the individual products in this box will be cut short here. I will be doing more in-depth reviews on each product and share links to those reviews here as I complete them. Right now I just want to talk about this month's box and what I got as a whole. So every box has a nice little welcome card that explains all the items you received and then usually has some promo codes in case you need more of something. I have already found myself using this for a snack I receive in my last box that no one carried in the stores near me. I had to have some more so having a little discount was great to give me the incentive to get some shipped to me. Lots of great items this month and a couple that I was pretty excited to try out. So what was in my box this month? Im pretty excited to try the chocolate bar they sent. It's always hard to find a good low carb chocolate option so this is great. I love the Brownies I had a couple months back so getting cookies by the same company will be lots of fun. Mayo is not something we use a lot of in our house so it's find to get the variety but I don't know how much we will use it. Jerky is always nice and getting some flax crackers are a great option too. I also liked the last ChocoRite bar they sent so this looks like a fun alternative to sugary sweets.
Pretty good box this month with lot of chocolate in it for the holidays. I look forward to sharing my I depth reviews on each of these. Check back here for links as I review them. I have tried my share of Low Carb snack bars from Atkins, but recently a family member shared with me one of Atkins newest bars from their Lift line. Designed to have more protein and to help add energy to your day these are meant to compete with more of the traditional energy bars found on the market.
Let's talk about taste, because that’s really what matters most here. I tried the Atkins Lift Salted Carmel Crunch bar and thought it had a great sweet taste to it with a nice texture. It was not too chewy or to tough which was nice. Nice little pieces of caramel inside too. I love the salty sweet taste so I may be a little biased, but this hits all the right notes for me. |
