Maybe I was rough on Rawxies before, I don’t really remember. I don’t think that they had a very long lasting impression on my with the last flavor I tried, but the Smoked Paprika flavor of Rawxies is totally different. This stuff is super yummy with great taste. Like the name says it’s a little Smokey but has a slight southwest taste to it. And I can totally taste the lime in it which works really well. A wonderful snack substitute with little to no carbs. This stuff is really addictive too. It must be the smoked taste that does it but this stuff just seems to have a lot more flavor than the last batch I had. I am for sure a fan of this kind and hope to get some more soon.

D's Natural Mint Cocoa Chip No Cow Bar might as well be call, mint Brownie, cause that’s just what it tastes like to me. This thing is super fudgy and has these little bits of nuts in it for added crunch. Super tasty and the mint flavor works great with it. It's almost closer to that of a dessert that a protein bar. Still that didn’t stop me having it for breakfast.
What I really like about this bar is how natural it is. So many bars have filler in them to help may them "lighter" but they are really filled with junk and stuff made in a lab. I like the idea of eating more natural ingredients for something like this. It really does make a difference on the way our body responds to our diet I think. Anyone want to go in on a box? Ayoba-Yo Droewors (beef Sticks) is a fun beef stick that feels a bit more natural than others on the market. And the process they use seems more real and authentic too.
This stuff is pretty good. Kinda tasted like dried breakfast sausage. In a good way. Like good spice. Nothing too strong and powerful but still good flavor. These guys are different in a good way. Authentic. I can appreciate that. It's been a long time since I had a hot breakfast cereal. My wife has Oatmeal on a regular basis and I often time get jealous when I see her bowls look so yummy. Delicious fruit and bananas in a warm bowl of cereal. On a cold winter morning it’s a perfect way to start the day. I have always missed being able to take part in that since starting a low carb lifestyle. Well, a surprise showed up in the mail for me to try this month!
Ketologie Vanilla Coconut Noat-meal is the real deal folks! If you want some instant oatmeal in the morning that doesn’t sacrifice flavor, and doesn’t pack in the carbs this is it! I followed the directions on the pack which recommend using water or milk to make the cereal. I used an unsweetened Almond Milk for my bowl. Placed it in the microwave for a few seconds, mixed it up and was ready to go. I was concerned that a small pack of this stuff wouldn’t go very far and that the bowl wouldn’t be very full. Not the case at all. It was a nice serving size. It also had a nice sweet taste. I didn’t have to add anything to the mixture. The vanilla and coconut really was a win. The package also says you can eat it cold, but I don’t know why you would want to. It was so tasty as a warm treat. I am totally going to order some of this stuff right away. This stuff is legit! The latest Meat stick in a long line of Meat sticks that I have consumed is by Vermont Smoke & Cure. I tried their Black Pepper Meat Stick. It's important to know that this stick is a blend of Pork and Beef both. It's probably not the highest quality of meat cuts and is maybe a step up from a Slim Jim. Its tasted fine as was very moist and not dry at all, but it didn’t really leave me with any other thoughts to stand out in the crowd of meat sticks. If you are going to be Black pepper, then really do it! Make it spicy and make the pepper prevalent. This wasn’t the case.
Taste fine, but forgettable. Atkins just recently came out with a newer line of bars that are gear towards replacing some of the more natural trail bars you have seen on the market. They are made up of nuts and sometimes fruit and are meant to be more of a raw bar to fill in those that like the trail mix kind. I have yet to try them all, but what I have tried I have enjoyed. These bars are great for a mid-day snack and work wonderful to help get through those hunger pains mid-day.
I most recently tried the Harvest Trail Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Bars. I am a big fan of anything that mixes sweet and salty so usually things that use sea salt are a win in my book. This was no exception. Good taste of chocolate mixed with the saltiness of the nuts. The bars have a great crunch too. Not a soft chewy bar like some others. This bar is basically nuts and chocolate. They are not very big so I would say that they work best as a snack and not really a meal substitute. If I just had these during a meal I would be pretty hungry afterward but keeping a box of these at your desk during the day would be a great idea to help with any rough post breakfast cravings that come up. I look forward to trying some of the other flavors that they have of these. Anyone else tried these? I love chocolate! It could almost be a problem. Luckily I like being thin also. So my self control has gotten much better than it used to be. But I do often miss it. Luckily there are more and more options for low carb chocolate snacks appearing on the market. Most recently I received a new snack in my Oct Keto Kate that was a real winner.
ChocoRite by Health Smarts Foods Peanut Butter Cup Patties is a great substitute for a candy bar that you used to eat. I thought at first that this was going to be closer to that of a Peanut Butter cup, however the peanut filling inside has a crispiness to it and a sweetness that gives it a Butterfinger taste. This wasn’t really a bad thing at all. The last time I had a Butterfinger was years ago so I was super pleased to have this taste in my mouth. It's got a nice chocolate taste, think more American milk chocolate and not cocoa. I really enjoyed this and would love to have these around to curb any sugar cravings that come up. And the carb count is super low so you really don’t have much to complain about. Very yummy! Anyone else tried these? If you read this blog you know that I am constantly on the look-out for Low Carb products that meet my lifestyle and help to make my life a bit easier. Saving time on cooking, and having a variety of snacks available help to make the diet a bit easier on myself so I don’t get bored with the same old things. So when I discovered that there was a new subscription service that sends you products that fit within the low carb lifestyle I was on board. Keto Krate is a new subscription box that is available in the long list of to your door monthly box subscriptions that is specifically geared towards the Keto and low carb lifestyle. They guarantee that all items in the box will be less than 5 carbs per serving and that the value of the collected items products will always exceed the cost of the box. My desire to find some new snacks that were low carb is really what made me decide to give it a try, that plus who doesn’t like a surprise now and then. My review's for the individual products in this box will be cut short here. I will be doing more in-depth reviews on each product and share links to those reviews here as I complete them. Right now I just want to talk about this month's box and what I got as a whole. So every box has a nice little welcome card that explains all the items you received and then usually has some promo codes in case you need more of something. I have already found myself using this for a snack I receive in my last box that no one carried in the stores near me. I had to have some more so having a little discount was great to give me the incentive to get some shipped to me. Lots of great items this month and a couple that I was pretty excited to try out. So what was in my box this month? This box was a great one in my opinion. Several things stood out to me an really got me excited. The first thing I noticed was an Atkins Harvest Trail Bar. I have had these before and they are great. I don’t mind a familiar item in the box if it's something good. These Onion Ring clusters sound really different and possibly a fun snack and I like that. Anything new and out of the ordinary I can get behind. Another bag of Rawxie's Crunch came but a new flavor so I look forward to trying it. Can't go wrong with some beef stick choices, as long as the whole box isn't meat. I love that there was some snack chocolate in it this time. Chocorite looks good! And this Noat-meal really intrigues me. I miss having a warm cereal on occasion in the mornings. Lastly the Mint Cocoa bar seems really fun. This box seemed to have a great blend of snacks of different types. Meats, savory, sweet, and even some new items. I loved it! A+ for this box.

After trying that particular brand of pumpkin seeds I was introduced to another kind today.
Skout Backcountry Pumpkins Seeds have a few different flavors but today I tried Jalapeno Salsa. I like that these have a little kick to them but are not too spicy. It's not like my nose is running or anything like that, but they had good flavor and taste. I'm definitely a fan of this pumpkin seed trend that's coming about and the flavors that people are incorporating are really a lot of fun. If you haven't tried them yet I highly suggest it. They have great fiber and great taste perfect for snacking. ![]() If you're not eating salads while you're on a low-carb diet then somehow you managed to avoid the inevitable. Salads are pretty much going to be a big part of your diet. Do you load them up with all the good stuff too? You have got to get creative so it doesn’t get boring. Salads work great as a side for any meal that you're having. Little something extra to help fill you up and get some nutrients in. Salads are a must. I was recently sent a new dressing to try out which is an a Greek vinaigrette. Primal Kitchen Greek Vinaigrette was pretty good. But not great. I don't know, it just kind of felt bland to me. And salad by itself can be bland without the right dressing. You got have a dressing that really stands out. This particular dressing didn't taste bad it just didn't have a ton of flavor. I honestly can't even think of anything to say about it. I just thought it was kind of boring. You know sometimes you eat things and they don't register as bad and they didn't register as good. They just kind of exist. I thought this was that experience. Maybe I have just written too many reviews now and I'm running out of words to use. Hopefully that's not the case. I give this dressing a "meh". |
