Pork Cloud Pork Rinds Rosemary & Sea Salt Review

Pork rinds are not for everybody. They're a bit more of an acquired taste. However if you're eating low-carb like me and you've discovered that you like this taste then you can't go wrong with a brand of high-quality pork rinds like Pork Clouds.

This brand always does great seasoning and flavors on their pork rinds which really help to for fill the need of something crunchy and salty in your diet. Especially if you're someone who used to frequent the chip section this is a great alternative.

The rosemary and sea salt taste works fantastic here. It's not too bold or overwhelming but has a nice taste to it. With just the right amount of seasoning.

I am a fan of this brand. And would love to see it in more stores near me. Most of the pork rind snacks on my store shelves are locally made and not the highest quality. This company seems to really take pride in making high quality prok rinds.

Keto and Co Riced Broccoli Review

My wife and I are big fans of raced cauliflower. We use it all the time. And awesome substitute for regular rice when you're making stirfry or in our house chicken curry. I love that more brands are coming out with options and alternatives. When I receive the package of rice broccoli I was excited to try it. It seem like a nice substitute for something we're already using that could change up our recipes a little bit.

Keto and Co Riced Broccoli is just that rice broccoli. It's like a shave off the florettes of broccoli stocks dry it out and put in the bag. So what I think. Well I wasn't a big fan of the stuff. There's a couple reasons.

The first thing that didn't sit well with me it's just the fact that broccoli is a lot wetter and absorbent then cauliflower. Also when riced the pieces are much smaller. When I put my chicken curry on top of rice broccoli it essentially became overwhelmed with the taste of broccoli. The broccoli absorbs a lot of the liquid and disperses throughout the entire mix of vegetables and chicken. This could be something someone else might love but for me it took away from the actual curry taste.

The next reason I wasn't crazy about it was the smell. I think from it being dried out if produce a unnatural smell that regular broccoli doesn't seem to have. And maybe I was being oversensitive and maybe I am even dreaming some of this up, but my nose could not handle the smell.

My wife seem to eat the stuff pretty well. She didn't seem that concerned about any of the things I'm talking about so I do believe that this stuff would be great for anyone else. My personal taste is if I'm going to do something as a rice substitute, I want it to taste pretty close to rice. Cauliflower seems to do that much better than broccoli does.

FBomb Smart Fuel Review

I don't get this stuff. I'm guessing the whole purpose of doing fat shots is for people who want to put oil in their coffee to make bulletproof coffee. It's the only thing I can think of as pumping shots of fat in my mouth is not appealing to me in anyway.

I will say that when I tried this in my coffee didn't taste bad. I actually had a nice coconut taste to it. You just made my coffee very oilly. Maybe I need someone to explain to me the purpose of why I would do this but didn't really affect me the rest of the day. My appetite is the same.

Anyway if you need a shot to put your coffee in fact I suppose FBomb Fat Shots are adequate. It's just not really my thing.

ChocoNite Premium Low Carb Hot Chocolate Review

I live in fargo, ND. It gets cold here in the winter. Seriously cold. So finding ways to stay warm are an absolute must. For me nothing beats a hot drink. A cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate is cozy must. Of those three however hot chocolate is not as available as you might think. Even some of the more common low sugar brands have a fair amount of carbs in them. So it's been hard to fulfill those cravings and not feel guilty. That's why I was excited to se a new option for hot chocolate on my radar.

ChocoNite Premium Low Carb Hot Chocolate is a hot chocolate option that uses low carb sweeteners to enhance its taste. And guess what, it works. It actually tastes like hot chocolate and isn't too watery or bland. A great cocoa taste that isn't flat or artificial. Guys this stuff is legit.

When I made mine I used Almond milk and it seemed to work really well. The chocolate is in the form of a powder which you have to mix into your milk. I noticed that when I tried to mix it into water that it was very difficult to disperse, but when it was added to the milk for some reason it worked much better.

I am pretty happy with this stuff. I don't think that the taste is so much different than any other hot chocolate out there, but the big take away here is that it's low-carb and a new option to get cozy with.

September Keto Krate Review

If you read this blog you know that I am constantly on the look-out for Low Carb products that meet my lifestyle and help to make my life a bit easier. Saving time on cooking, and having a variety of snacks available help to make the diet a bit easier on myself so I don’t get bored with the same old things. So when I discovered that there was a new subscription service that sends you products that fit within the low carb lifestyle I was on board.

Keto Krate is a new subscription box that is available in the long list of to your door monthly box subscriptions that is specifically geared towards the Keto and low carb lifestyle. They guarantee that all items in the box will be less than 5 carbs per serving and that the value of the collected items products will always exceed the cost of the box.

My desire to find some new snacks that were low carb is really what made me decide to give it a try, that plus who doesn’t like a surprise now and then.

My review's for the individual products in this box will be cut short here. I will be doing more in-depth reviews on each product and share links to those reviews here as I complete them. Right now I just want to talk about this month's box and what I got as a whole.

So every box has a nice little welcome card that explains all the items you received and then usually has some promo codes in case you need more of something. I have already found myself using this for a snack I receive in my last box that no one carried in the stores near me. I had to have some more so having a little discount was great to give me the incentive to get some shipped to me.

Lots of great items this month and a couple that I was pretty excited to try out. So what was in my box this month?

This month starts out with some yummy pumpkin seeds to munch on with pink sea salt. Dried beef slices from the Ayoba-yo brand too which I have liked before. Always nice to have some meet snacks of some sort in a box. They also had a roam stick in this box. However I was unwilling to try this meat stick as it seemed the vacuum seal on the stick had broken. The roam stick was a little gray and discolored. I just didn't really trust it at that point. I don't really think that is a Keto Krate problem, more of an issue with Roam Stick packaging. The box also had some hazelnut spread which is something I was hoping to get some more of sometime soon now that we found a good low carb crepe recipe. Pistachios from the Guilded Nut Company are always good. Their nuts are always high quality. A huge Cookie in the box!!! Yes please!! it looks wonderful. Lastly a protein bar. There is usually at least one protein bar in each box. This was from the Adapt company which I haven't been huge on their bars in the past.

Over all, the box is decent. This one took a bit longer to get to be for some reason. I think USPS had some issues since it was coming out of FL and lets be honest there have been storms all over recently.

Skout Organic Pumpkins Seeds
NougatCreme Hazelnut Spread
Ayoba-Yo Beef
Guilded Nut Pistachios
Know Better Chocolate Chip Cookie

Roam Stick Hickory Smoked Pork
Adapt Cinnamon Swirl Protein Bar

Low Kalz Protein Bars Review

There are a lot of Protein bars out in the world today and while by no means am I an expert, I would say I have tried many of the options that fit into the low Carb category. However that doesn’t mean that there are some that I still don’t learn about as new companies come up. Recently I had a company reach out to me to try some new protein bars that they created. Low Kalz is a company that does low calorie subscription boxes, but are working on creating their own natural and fresh Protein bars.

The bars are described as the following:
"Soft baked, Made with almond flour, Naturally sweetened with fruits, and they provide you with a soft taste of heaven with each bite." Currently they come in three flavors, Apply Cranberry, Banana Chocolate, and Tropical Blueberry. The bars and are meant to be stored In your refrigerator as they are using only freshest ingredients and fruit.

So what were my thoughts on these new bars?

First off, the size is a bit small. It's about half the size of a traditional bar I would normally have in the morning. So one of these probably isn't going to fill you up. The other problem comes from t being a bit more carbs then other low carb bars on the market. Now, they don’t call themselves Low Carbz, do they. So I am guessing it's not as big of a priority, but for someone counting carbs, or on induction, one bar is half my days count. They do have a great texture though. Close to that of a muffin or a soft baked bread almost. Moist and fresh too. How about the flavors?

Apple Cranberry
- I wasn't crazy about this one. The apple taste was a little underwhelming. The cranberries were nice and big, and were closer to raisins, but still brought flavor but again, they probably  overwhelmed it since the apple taste was so mild. 7G Carbs

Banana Chocolate
- This one was decent. Tasted like a piece of banana bread with little pieces of chocolate. The banana flavor was there and the chocolate worked well with it. Closer to a muffin but with a bit more protein after taste. 11G Carbs

Tropical Blueberry - This was my favorite bar. It had a nice citrus taste and reminded me of the freshness of a morning smoothie. I didn’t get much after taste on this one which was nice. The fruit all worked well. I could easily eat more of these. My 3 year old wanted to eat the whole thing. Only complaint on this one was that it was a bit more crumbly than the other bars. That could have been due to shipping. 7G Carb.

If you want protein bars that focus on fresh, this may be for you. But you may not want all the carbs.

If you try them out, let us know in the comments.
