The Cheesecake Factory makes Low carb cheesecake! It right there on the menu!

Walnut crust, Splenda, strawberries, and miracles.

This thing is awesome. Rumor is its like 5-8 carbs. I choose to believe it is true. The strawberries don't have to be part of it, but it's so yummy with it. :)

Treat yoself!

Five Guys Burgers Lettuce Wrapped Burger Review

How many men does it take to make out low-carb lettuce wrapped hamburger? Five guys! Hey oooooh! (Insert rimshot here.)

There's a burger place by me in Southern California that seems to be popping up in new locations all the time. Five Guys Burgers and Fries claims to do one thing much better than all of its competitors. Five Guys claims that its burgers and fries are always made fresh when you order them and only using the freshest ingredients. My wife and I decided to have lunch there the other day and I decided it would be a great time to try and see the options that Five Guys has for the low-carb eater. I went ahead and ordered their regular bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions, ketchup, mustard, and tomatoes. My biggest fear is always that a burger place doesn't have a proper system for wrapping their burgers. Some burger places just look at you with that dumb look on their face when you ask for a wrapped burger. I won't lie, I feel as though I got that look from the waitress here when I placed my order, but she was just surprised that I wanted to turn down such a delicious bun I suppose. I can't blame her for thinking that way actually.

All of their burgers get wrapped in tin foil. This is a great advantage to us lettuce wrapped burger fans as it makes the sloppy mess very easy to hold and a much cleaner affair. There was a nice big piece of lettuce holding it all together, fresh tomatoes, and delicious cheese. My only complaint I have with this Five Guys Burger was that their patties a little thin. That's easily fixable though by just getting a double burger next time so that I fell like I have more meat. The meat has great flavor and all the ingredients are fresh, I just wanted more of it, that's all. A double patty would fix that problem quick.

I guess the other low is that they aren't really that cheap. A burger by itself can be five bucks. That's with no salad, side, or anything. In and Out Burger could get you two burgers for that price. Even so, they taste may be worth the price.

If you go to Five Guys the customization of your burger is super easy and they don't charge for any of the ingredients except cheese and bacon. So you can make your burger just the way you want. And since Five Guys is currently the number one rated burger in America these places are popping up all over the place, so you should find one near your area very soon.

How many low-carb dieters does it take to steal a french fry or two from their wife when they're not supposed to eat it? Me, just me. (Insert lowering head in shame here.)

PMA On Tour: Brewzzi in West Palm Beach

Meatball!
We went to a place today, Brewzzi, that is located in a shopping center by our hotel. It's a local microbrewery that serves a variety of items with a bit of an Italian flare. Anyway, we decided it would be a great place to get some food and drink that was close so we tried it out.

I loved this place, but I realize I am a fan of the micro breweries. The first thing we got was an appetizer which could have been a meal for some. It was a speciaty item of theirs and it was a giant meatball with fresh ricotta cheese and grilled peppers. It was really yummy. It probably had some carbs in it as most meatballs do, but it didn't seem that bad to me. Really moist and tender. Their sauce was nummers too!

For my meal I got some eggplant rolls. They had a fancy name for them like eggplant-acotti or something silly but I can't remember it. The rolls were filled with mozzarella and ricotta and covered in their yummy marinara sauce. Eggplant is relatively low in carbs to it seemed like a great Italian food substitute. Oh it was so good. I'm sure that it was higher than I might want in the carb count, but I didn't even care. Anyone eating low carb will tell you Italian food is pretty off limits, but in this case it was a perfect combination. I might try to talk my wife into another visit before we go.

The Lazy Fast Food Problem aka Why I Hate Burger King

You know why drives me nuts? Lazy fast food shops. Your food already is made extremely fast with little effort, but then they go ahead and lazy it up a bit more. Okay maybe this is out of no where. I cant be the only one annoyed by this though. Let me explain what I mean.

Recently when my wife and I were traveling on tour we had to stop in the airport for lunch. Looking for something that would please us both we went for Burger King, I mean they at least have a salad right? So I search the menu and order a salad, something easy and low carb, a chicken Caesar. After waiting through what seems like 5 minutes our number is called. We take the food to our gate and open up our sack. What to we find? Every single ingredient is wrapped in its own smaller sack. That includes the chicken. Essentially we get a bowl of greens with all the other salad toppings on the side to mix in. I am paying to make my own salad. Come on folks it take two second to put the chicken on my salad. Don't advertise that you make freshly prepared salads because you don't, I do for you.  You sell what I need to make a salad. I could go to the grocery store and pay the same price and make five salads. Ugh. Anyway it annoys me.

Oh, and did I mention that they gave me Ranch dressing. Cause Caesar salads are made with ranch right. Idiots.

Ok, I am done. I move on.
