Everly Strawberry Lemonade Pitcher Packets are ready to use Packets to mix up quick pitchers of cold lemonade without any of the sugar. Super easy to make and the flavor is quite good too. I was very happy with the results. One thing that stood out to me is simply how lightly sweetened they were and weren't overly tart. The strawberry taste was nice too. Might be good to put in some real strawberries into the mix. I liked these and would totally keep some around for when guests swing by as a quick drink mix. I also think its great that Everly promotes staying hydrated so they don't fill it with bad stuff that will do the opposite of that. Pretty tasty.
On a hot summer day, I think we can all agree that nothing hits the spot quiet like a fresh glass of cold lemonade. Something cool and refreshing that isn't too sweet seems to help make a hot summer day really become something special. Unfortunately most lemonades use a lot of sugar. some brands do have light or sugar free versions but the results can be pretty mixed. I was fortunate enough to try a yummy Sugar free Strawberry Lemonade which hits the spot perfectly.

What did you guys eat today? I am curious what everyone does for their low carb meals?
I had a thought! Take a photo of your Low carb lunch and email to PoorMansAtkins@gmail.com and include you First name and Location and I will share it out for all of PMA to check out. Lets see what we are all eating to stay healthy!!! Come on! takes two secs! This could be fun! If you read this blog you know that I am constantly on the look-out for Low Carb products that meet my lifestyle and help to make my life a bit easier. Saving time on cooking, and having a variety of snacks available help to make the diet a bit easier on myself so I don’t get bored with the same old things. So when I discovered that there was a new subscription service that sends you products that fit within the low carb lifestyle I was on board. Keto Krate is a new subscription box that is available in the long list of to your door monthly box subscriptions that is specifically geared towards the Keto and low carb lifestyle. They guarantee that all items in the box will be less than 5 carbs per serving and that the value of the collected items products will always exceed the cost of the box. My desire to find some new snacks that were low carb is really what made me decide to give it a try, that plus who doesn’t like a surprise now and then. My review's for the individual products in this box will be cut short here. I will be doing more in-depth reviews on each product and share links to those reviews here as I complete them. Right now I just want to talk about this month's box and what I got as a whole. So every box has a nice little welcome card that explains all the items you received and then usually has some promo codes in case you need more of something. I have already found myself using this for a snack I receive in my last box that no one carried in the stores near me. I had to have some more so having a little discount was great to give me the incentive to get some shipped to me. Lots of great items this month and a couple that I was pretty excited to try out. So what was in my box this month? This months box jumped out at me right away for having Front Porch Pecans in the box. Those things are super yummy and I can't wait to try a new spicy flavor. The Quest Cereal Bars have all been decent so a chocolate one should be fun to try too. I like that it has an almond butter which I haven't had the chance to try often. And this one happens to be a fun flavor of carrot cake. There is a Brownie Bar and a Peanut butter cookie in the box. Both interesting. Two different meat sticks in this so that will be nice to compare them a little. One seems more jerky than the other. A Low carb sports drink is a cool idea. I was actually just thinking about it recently how I missed the occasional sports drink. Lastly it has a nice collection of fancy peanuts to try. I liked the Pizootz brand before so it should be nice to try another flavor of theirs too. Over all this is a decent box. A total of nine items which is usually a bit more than other months. I am guessing that is because these items are a bit smaller. Even so I am happy with this group and look forward to giving them all a try. Keto Love Carrot Cake Almond Butter
Quest Chocolate Cereal Protein Bar Front Porch Pecans Habanero BBQ Ketone.io Sports Drink Fat Snacks Peanut Butter Cookie Chocolate Almond Crunch Keto Brownie Pizootz Bay Spice Peanuts DiMario Garlic and Fennel Pork Snack Stick I have tried multiple flavors of protein bars from different companies and I feel like I am getting a good feeling about what companies emphasize flavor versus quality ingredients. Adapt is a company that makes all their bars with natural ingredients. That means most of the items in the ingredient list you should be able to pronounce. They count all carbs not just Net carbs. They do this to keep the count low and minimize blood sugar spikes and reduce cravings.
This is all great news, however the flavor of their bars has never stood out. Most of them have an oily taste to them with a slight blandness that seems to speak louder than the flavor printed on the label. However, of all of the Adapt bars I have tried the Adapt Cinnamon Swirl Protein Bar has some of the best taste. I think it's because cinnamon is fairly easy to make stand out as a flavor. Anyway, if flavor is what you are after this company may not be for you. But if you want the benefits of the ingredients they use it may be worth checking out. I tried a Ketologie Chocolate Keto Shake and mixed mine up using unsweetened Almond milk. This stuff was super tasty and very filling. It would be a great meal substitute and be a nice fit into a daily routine. It has a good taste too. It kinds of tasted like a one of those frozen hot chocolates do. It must have a fair amount of cocoa in it because that really stood out. Very good. A bit more expensive than a pack of Atkins shakes because you would most likely need them to ship it to you but if that’s not an issue, go for it. Very yummy and much more filling than other shakes on the market.
This bar didn’t taste great. It has a weird oily state. The cookie flavor is pretty light. It has a waxy consistency. I love that its low on the carb count, but flavor matters. Meh. Pass.
Elvio's Chimichurri Sauce is a great addition to your meal and a fun way to spice things up a bit. It adds great flavor to any meat without additional carbs like BBQ sauce may traditionally have. I would never have considered getting some of this to start, but it has been great to have in the house and a fun way to change up our families menu. I would totally pick some of this up again. Especially since it makes me feel like my meal is all fancy. So far I have used this on some chicken breasts and even some hamburgers. Very tasty.
Food Alive Onion Garlic Flax Crackers are pretty good. The garlic taste is really strong and a bit over powering on their own. But with something added these can be a create substitute for the snack you use to enjoy. I personally have never been a huge fan of flax crackers until recently. When you introduce a dip like a French onion, that really helps to sell the crackers. These specifically work nicely with the garlic and the dip. And they are nice and crispy and not too thick like some other flax crackers on the market. So far these Food Alive brands are some of my favorite. If you're looking for a decent cracker substitute this may be for you. Some people may have to adjust to the flax seed nature of these but I am guessing that some won't be phased by it at all.
Subscription Boxes are all the rage these days. Now there are so many types of boxes that it seems like there is a monthly box for every type of person out there. This of course includes those of us that eat low carb or are on a ketogentic diet. These boxes offer up monthly snacks that are safe for your diet and help encourage your eating habits. I decided to give The Keto Box, one of the current top Keto subscription boxes a try. They offer multiple low carb Keto friendly items each month and promise to always give you the best value on the items included in the box. So here's how it works according to their site:
Sounds pretty good to me. I especially like they are looking for some feedback from the users after each box. Well, my box showed up fast and on time and seemed to be in great shape. The box itself seems to be pretty well built and I didn’t have much fear of seeing it be busted open. ![]() Inside every box you get some coupon codes and some information on items that may be of interest to you. No big explanation on why certain items where picked which would be nice, but the box comes feeling pretty full so that’s good. This particular box also comes with a The Keto Box coffee mug which was kind of fun to get. We drink a lot of coffee in our house and having a nice sturdy mug is always nice to have around. If you are interested in getting one you can use the coupon code: THEMUG19 to get one in your box this month. So let's get down to the real deal. How was my box this month? Let's take a look. My review's for the individual products in this box will be cut short here. I will be doing more in-depth reviews on each product and share links to those reviews here as I complete them. Right now I just want to talk about this month's box and what I got as a whole. Well, we had a nice mix of items for this one. This is the first time I have seen Riced Broccoli and look forward to trying it. We use Rice cauliflower a lot but this could be a great substitute. I always like getting some sweets so having a package of Blondies to try is fun and it should last a few days in our house. I really enjoy Rawxies Crunch and it makes a great snack for lounging at night so that’s a plus. A new Protein bar flavor to try is fun and I love cinnamon too. Not sure what to do with the Fbomb smart fuel. I'm not sure that product appeals to me a lot. I love a good shake so the Chocolate Keto Shake will be fun to try. Lastly they put in a jar of Chimichurri Sauce. It's not something I would ever think to get myself, but I am excited to try it. And I love getting items that sustain beyond a single serving. Very fun. Keto and Co Riced Broccoli
