This Mudslide Bar is boring. Zzzzzzzz. It's got that same chocolatey day-old Brownie inside with a couple walnuts and the faintest hints of a marshmallow pieces. The taste isn't bad, it's just boring. I guess if you don't want the chocolate covered all over your bar this might be the bar for you but it seems like it's missing something. Not sure what it is but whatever isn't there keeps me from want to come back to it. I give it a big "meh"

A little while ago I made an eggplant lasagna for my wife. Can't really tell you the recipe because I kind of just made it up from scratch. I can tell you a couple of the things that were involved.
Eggplant. Low carb pasta sauce. Ricotta Cheese. Fresh Italian sausage. Mozzarella Awesomeness. Basically I used sliced eggplant where the lasagna noodles would normally go. Just layer cheese and meat and eggplant with some sauce. Bake for 20-30 minutes. It was incredibly delicious and my wife ate it all up, leftovers included. Lately I have been thinking about creating some videos for this blog and was wondering what types of videos might be more useful to my readers? What are your thoughts? Feel free to comment back if you want also. Thought I would pass this along. Planters makes natural peanut butter now. Maybe they always have, but I never saw it before. I love Planters because they really do use good peanuts. As for the butter, its really thick and sticks to the roof of your mouth. Its some of the more low carb peanut butter I have found too. Probably because they don't use as many fillers. Only 3 Carbs.
Now I'm sure some of you feel that the Atkin's bars out there lean pretty close to candy bar territory at times. Maybe that's why I like them. They are sweet and they don't feel like a diet food at all. Some bars more than others walk that line depending on what's inside of them. Of the Atkin's bars The Carmel Chocolate Nut Roll is in my opinion the closest to a candy bar as they come. It's essentially a low carb Baby Ruth. Nougat, rolled in caramel, rolled in peanuts, cover in chocolate. It's good. I mean really, if you like Baby Ruths you will like this. Not sure if it's the norm, but most of the time when I have gotten these bars they are kind of chewy and hard. Could be the caramel or maybe just a bad couple bars.
It feels a little weird eating these in the morning on the go, like maybe you are breaking a rule or something. But its low carb so whats there to complain about really. Good little snack. |
