One package of Skinny Salamis has two mini salami meat sticks in it. The Casbah Pork flavor of these meat sticks is nice and kind a different. It almost has a slight Indian taste to it as though it was filled with some curry spices. It’s hard to pinpoint the flavor exactly and that’s the best thing I could come up with. These things are firm and closer to that of a really hard salami. I like them.

So there is another keto snack box which is recently entered the mix. I have written about a couple of the others in the past and I think it’s alway great to compare what’s out there. My Keto Snack Box is a subscription snack box that is delivered to you once a month. At $38 a month they guarantee you will see 7 to 10 different snack choices all at 5 grams of carbs or less. Pretty decent concept.
So let’s take a look at what what’s in the box for April? The first two items out of the box are a low calorie soda and Energy drink both by Zevia. Drinks are fun but I usually prefer just one in my box so I can have room for something else. Some crunchy cheese snacks are always my favorite. A box of some fancy pistachios are nice. Pork rinds are great but small bags are a tease. I love the flax crackers they sent. They are some of my favorite kind of crackers. Some Beef jerky in the box is a usual but whether it’s a good jerky is really the question. Lastly they added some matcha Green Tea powder to the box which is great for a late night hot drink. Overall the box this month is pretty good and has a nice well rounded amount of items in it. Some good snacks in the box. Not crazy about getting two drinks in one box, but all the other stuff is great. I look forward to see what else these guys have planned. hey, these are some good beef sticks. People’s Choice Small Batch Beef Sticks have great flavor, tender, a little bit of moisture, and they taste fresh. Usually if a beef stick will hit those categories and it’s top-notch for me. You have a thing I like about these is because of the amount of pepper involved had a nice space to them. They weren’t too hot, but strong enough to give a little kick. The other thing I notice is the price. Usually for beef sticks of this quality you pay about a buck a stick. A package of these goes for about six dollars. That’s pretty good.
This is the second cookie that I have tried by the Keto Kookie company. The peanut butter Keto Kookie is even lower in carbs then some of their others. The flavor is really good and the cookie is pretty soft. The issue I had was that it was fairly crumbly and didn’t stick together very well. But the taste was good. You don’t just tasted like a softer version of a Nutter butter. You do get two small cookies in each bag which is nice because then you can share with a friend or if you like me stare at your wife/significant other intently while you eat both.
We’re seeing more and more low-carb cookies show up on the market that have a much better taste and quality. These guys do a good job. Well I wouldn’t say that they’re my favorite I’d say they do a pretty solid cookie. Lately I have really been missing granola in my life. I know there’s some recipes out there to make this on my own but I just don’t have time for that. After digging on the internets I stumbled across Pro Granola Vanilla Cinnamon Clusters. It’s a low-carb granola which has about two carbs per serving. Extremely high in fiber.
I was a little skeptical at first because I was afraid there might be a lot of artificial flavors in this or have a heavy flax taste. I couldn’t be more wrong. This stuff taste great. I like to eat it with some unsweetened vanilla almond milk. It absolutely helps to fill the need for a bowl of cereal in the morning. The taste is good too. It has a nice vanilla cinnamon flavor to it which isn’t too strong. One issue I did have was that since the bag was shipped to me a lot of the granola got smashed in about half of the bag was closer to a powder/crumb form then cluster. I hope to try some other versions of this out on the market but until I do this will serve nicely. My only real complaint about this is the price tag. On Amazon a bag of this goes for about 10 bucks. That’s probably because it contains flax and flax isn’t cheap. It seems like when you want to eat low-carb and have alternatives often times you have to pay for it. I am curious however, do any of you have a good homemade recipes for low-carb for granola? If so I’d love to hear it. I reviewed the Droëwars brand in the past and had some good things to say. These guys do all natural air dried beef and they do the ayoba-yo version. This time I was excited to try their brand of beef sticks. Great flavor with no added components. You can basically count the seven ingredients on the back of the bag and all of them are things that you can read and understand. I’m kind of surprised that these aren’t on more store shelves in my area. But it seems like more commonly today people want their beef jerky‘s to have heavy flavoring which is too bad. These things have just as much flavor as anything else out there and they’re all natural. I highly recommend.
Keto Krate is a new subscription box that is available in the long list of to your door monthly box subscriptions that is specifically geared towards the Keto and low carb lifestyle. They guarantee that all items in the box will be less than 5 carbs per serving and that the value of the collected items products will always exceed the cost of the box. My desire to find some new snacks that were low carb is really what made me decide to give it a try, that plus who doesn’t like a surprise now and then. My review's for the individual products in this box will be cut short here. I will be doing more in-depth reviews on each product and share links to those reviews here as I complete them. Right now I just want to talk about this month's box and what I got as a whole. The April box is a bit of a mixed bag for me. It does have a couple unique items but is still lacking that certain item that usually captures my attention in the box. One of the first things I pulled out was a bottle of Ketchup. This is kind of fun because I actually use ketchup quite a bit. I normally use the Heinz low sugar stuff so it will be fun to try something new. After that, is a small bag of pork rinds. I recently discovered that I like pork rinds quite a bit and they’re great snack to have that’s an alternative to chips. A small bag of some salami sticks was included. You can always count on there being some sort of meat stick in the box. A bag of artisan peanuts will be fun to try. I’ve had this brand before and they taste really good. There’s a bag of chocolate chip cookie mix. Can’t go wrong with baked goods in my opinion. Especially because you get several treats in one bag. There’s a zero cal cocktail mixer. While I like this idea, it means I have to go out and buy the booze for it. Lastly there’s some samples of syrup. The syrups look like they’re more intended for drinks which is great because I’m a heavy coffee drinker. Some decent items in this months box but for whatever reason it seem like it was lacking something. I’m sure that somebody out there would really enjoy these items but usually I’m a bit more excited after I open this up. I’ll give Keto Crate the benefit of the doubt though as almost every box I get they knock out of the park. Alterna Sweets Low Sugar Ketchup
Small Batch Pork Rinds - Sea Salt and Black Pepper Skinny Salami Canada Pork Sticks Pizootz Sea Salt and Cracked Pepper Peanuts Good Dees Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix be Mixed Zero Cal Margarita Cocktail Mixer NuNaturals Syrups Do you know what seems pointless to me. Writing a review for a beef stick. I mean you eat these things so fast there’s not really much point in savoring the flavor anyway right? I mean they really just to help probably make it through your day when you’re hungry. Now granted if there is an exceptional beef stick out there that’s a 10 out of 10 someone please let me know because I haven’t found it yet. Anyway these are OK, nice and tender which is good but nothing unusual. I would choose this off-the-shelf I had to. I don’t think I have that choice as I don’t think they carry locally.
IEnergy bites are common in my house. My wife likes to make them as a snack to have that she and the girls can enjoy on occasion. The ones she makes have a bit more carbs in them and so I usually can’t eat them. I was thrilled to try a new brand of energy bite mix that was designed for the Paleo diet. Creation Nation Paleo Energy Bites are low in carb so it seemed like a great fit.
I seriously love these. Not sure how easy either it’s going to be to find, but I would definitely have these around more often. One of the best parts about these things how long they last. One batch of these can take you a while especially if you’re only eating one of these a day. I could see how it be easy to pop a couple of them in your mouth, but really for me I use it as a way to curb my desire for sweets. A nice chocolatey taste it’s almost closer to a no bake cookie. One bag makes about 12 balls. They have a nice chocolate coconut taste. And the bag actually gives you instructions that you can change based off of how you want your energy bites to turn out. I used almond milk and peanut butter. These are super yummy, and really do help you out when you need a quick snack. I will probably get more of these in the future. I am a fan. Protein cookies seem to becoming more popular all the time. You can actually see protein cookies in more store shelves like target Walmart now. Obviously not all of them are conducive to a Keto or a low-carb lifestyle. But the no cow protein cookie brand is.
I tried the no cow peanut butter protein cookie that this brand makes. Soft chewy and very easy to enjoy. Taste just like a traditional peanut butter cookie. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It did have a little bit of a protein taste like some of these can. All in all this was pretty good cookie really don’t have much to say bad about it. So far one of the better ones I’ve had. |
