Who are you?
My name is Tim and I am on the Atkin's diet. I started back in March of 2009. I weighed about 335 pounds and ate like I was a day away from the electric chair and every meal was my last. I tried doing all sorts of different things to lose the weight, but nothing seemed to work that well for me. I needed to change some habits that were deep in my head. On top of that I hated doing diets where I had to portion pinch and I felt like I was hungry all day. My older brother let me borrow a copy of Dr. Atkins book and I decided to give it a quick read. It sounded like it was written just for me. All the meat I could want? Why not. I decided to give the low carb life a try and immediately started to see results. By watching my carbohydrate intake and doing a small amount of exercise during the week I was able to shed 130 pounds in about a year and a half. I was a new man.

Why blog about it?
It wasn't all my idea. My wife reminded me of how difficult it was when I first started to eat right. She reminded me how the amount of weight loss I have had is not something everyone can say they have been able accomplish or had luck at coming close to. She said that this site would be a great way to encourage others on the Atkins lifestyle and help them find those same tricks I used to help lose and even maintain the weight. So thats the idea. To help create a community of encouragement and creativity for those of us that are eating low-carb.
